God speaks clearly today through His Word, the Bible. Here are a few things He says... (all verses are from
the New King James Version.)
About Himself In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) Then
God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let
them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air,
and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing
that creeps on the earth." (Genesis 1:26) When
He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and
behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice
[came] from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well
pleased." (Matthew 3:16-17)
About His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) And
the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
(John 1:14) But
while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord
appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be
afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in
her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you
shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their
sins." (Matthew 1:20-21) Nor
is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under
heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
About the Holy Spirit “The
earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] on the face of the
deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”
(Genesis 1:2) "And
I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He
may abide with you forever–– the Spirit of truth, whom the world
cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know
Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” (John 14:16-17)
About His Word, The Bible But
He answered and said, "It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’"
(Matthew 4:4) All
Scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness, (2 Timothy 3:16)
About Salvation – "How can I become a Christian?"
Acknowledge that you have sinned
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23)
Repent / turn from your sins
Repent
therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that
times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, (Acts 3:19)
Put your faith completely in Jesus Christ
And
he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" So
they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved,
you and your household." (Acts 16:30-31)
Believe that Jesus is the only way of salvation
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
Nor
is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under
heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
